Leadworker of the Year PR
Brief
The Lead Sheet Training Academy provides specialised training courses for those using lead or hard metals in the construction industry. They came to us wanting to maximise press coverage of The Leadworker of the Year competition, which they run every year at their state-of-the-art training centre in Kent. The competition winner receives the Leadworker of the Year Award, which is presented as part of the UK Roofing Awards.
Solution
The writing process began with extensive research into the competition and the LSTA’s training provision. We set up interviews with the competition finalists, sourced images for the articles, and arranged for input and quotes from colleagues at the LSTA.
The information gathered formed the basis of a number of outputs: a press release announcing the finalists, a profile of the winner and runner-up for the Roofing Awards brochure, a press release announcing the winner, and an in-depth article featuring the winner.
Alongside this, we compiled a comprehensive list of trade magazines to distribute the press releases to, liaised with the team organising the Roofing Awards, and arranged for the placement of the feature article in Roofing Today.
Result
We achieved excellent coverage across the construction press, with articles being published in leading trade journals including Roofing Today, Total Contractor, Ecclesiastical and Heritage World and RCI.
The coverage helped to raise the LSTA’s profile and to cement its reputation as the industry-leading provider of lead and hard metal training courses in the UK.
"We were delighted to stage the LSTA Leadworker of the Year competition this year and the response from entrants was fantastic. Rebecca at ib3 did a wonderful job pulling everything together for our press coverage, from creating press releases announcing the finalists through to releasing the winner to the press"
